Twin Creeks Rustic Cabin

This project was a rental property owned by a Grammy award-winning singer/ songwriter out of Nashville that was not seeing a return on her investment. Twin Creeks is an antique, architectural rarity. Hand built in 1937 with hand peeled post and beam framing using two by fours with logs laid tongue and groove, it resided initially in the national park until it was eventually moved to its present location in Webb Creek. It has a place in area history belonging at one time to a member of the Ogles, one of Gatlinburg's oldest families.

Through this re-model, BTR was able to take the fabulous rustic features including the large stone fireplace with its massive great room and combine them with modern updated furnishings such as local art, modern décor and lighting. At the same time we were able to use old antique milk crates and jugs to repurpose as side tables. We kept most of the rustic history by repurposing many items such as the huge white earthenware pots to create a "tree" like form on each side flanking the fireplace. Using modern comforts such as the 42" inch HDTV above the fireplace helped make this historic property even more appealing. BTR used Tennessee sewn quilts combined with organic bed linens to keep the southern comfort then added moose and bear décor from local artisans to complete this rustic but modern update.
